JANUARY 30-FEBRUARY 5, 2022
We are working hard to help build our ward young adults with their testimonies and church activity. We invite them over to dinner each Sunday after church, teach a Sunday School class using Gospel Principles Manual, teach a weekly Institute class using Come Follow Me curriculum, drive them to attend special stake activities and anything else to help them individually and increase our strength in numbers. Some are returned missionaries, others are new members, others are struggling to stay, and others are struggling to return (which they define as ‘lapsing members’). We began with three and are growing - now EIGHT! We were excited to find a wonderful room to rent on the campus at Bangor University which is very convenient for all of them. We also viewed a flat for potential young missionaries right near the campus. What a blessing it would be to have some here!
Our weekly discussion with Kev and Elisha was just as wonderful as the previous ones. They SHINE! They are thirsting for truth. They are feasting when they study the Book of Mormon and meet with us.
I am gaining a whole new appreciation for the word ‘L O N G’!
Examples: 5 hour dinner invitation at a member’s house, 4 hour round trip to take 2 Elders to dinner in another village, 7 hour trip to mission home for senior couples potluck dinner, 7 hours driving YSA to stake/mission fireside. These seem to happen frequently. What am I learning? As missionaries, ‘our time’ is the ‘Lord’s time’ and we are happily giving all the time we have (even when we feel exhausted!)
We had appointments that cancelled at the last minute, invitations refused, cold days, rainy days, windy days - and yet the week was joyful and successful.
What do castles look like at night! Hogwarts?
